Affiliate & sponsorship disclosure

Last updated October 11, 2026

Seasoned Remote is free to read. To keep it that way, we may earn money in two ways. We tell you about both up front, and we label them wherever they appear.

Affiliate links

Some links to courses, job-search tools or subscriptions may be affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the company may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra.

Every affiliate link in the directory says "Affiliate link: we may earn a commission" right next to it. In guides and newsletters, we disclose it in the same sentence or right beside the link, not tucked away at the bottom of the page.

As of the date above, none of our links are affiliate links. When that changes, the label will show up on those listings.

Sponsored placements

Companies can pay to sponsor a newsletter issue or a featured spot on the site. Paid placements are always marked "Sponsored." Sponsors can't buy a spot in our editorial listings or guides, and they don't get to review or change what we write about them.

What doesn't change

  • We decide what to list and recommend on the merits. A commission or sponsorship doesn't change that.
  • Free and public resources (government sites, nonprofits, free courses) stay in the directory and guides, even though they pay us nothing. They're often the best option.
  • Every listing still links to its source and shows when we last checked it.

Why we tell you

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission expects publishers to clearly disclose any financial relationship with the brands they mention, and to put that disclosure where readers will actually see it (FTC: Endorsement Guides FAQ). That's also just the right way to treat readers.
