About Seasoned Remote
Seasoned Remote is a free directory and weekly newsletter for people over 40 who want remote work in or near tech, whether they're switching careers or coming back after a layoff or a break.
It's a small, independent editorial project, not affiliated with any employer, school or job board. Most career-change content is written for people fresh out of school. This is for people with mortgages, kids, aging parents and decades of real-world judgment.
How listings are chosen
- Every listing has a source. If we can't link to evidence (an AARP Employer Pledge announcement, a certification body's own page, a government site), it doesn't go in.
- We say why it's here. "Signed the AARP Employer Pledge" and "fully remote, no age-specific program found" are different claims, and we label them that way.
- We note the cost. Free, paid or "you get paid" (apprenticeships).
- We re-check. Each card shows the date it was last checked. Programs change; for example, ISC2's free cybersecurity exam program closed in May 2026, and we say so.
- Sponsored placements are always labeled. Sponsors can't buy their way into editorial listings or change what we write about them.
